Dj Equipment Oldest to newest.
In looking for ideas on what pages i can create for my website I thought i could talk about the dj equipment i use
Mixer- Vestax PMC II
I’ve had this mixer for over ten years and it’s definitely one of the most durable pieces of dj equipment i have. I like the amount of inputs and of course it is rackmountable in my odyssey case. The plug input has taken a beating but my dad thankfully saved it. There are three mic inputs and i like the volume of the headphone cue . Very Loud output. You also have the option to run 1/4 or xlr out to your speakers which i take full advantage of.
Case- I’ve been setup in so many different ways over the years. I’m currently using an odyssey case two space. It might be a little different than the picture but it’s very similar. One of the keys to my setup is efficency, and keeping things light. When i playing music for people. I have alot of different heavy bulky equipment that would make your body hurt after a night of lugging it back and forth. These days i stay light as possible. This case is good. I’m thinking about upgrading to the new slide cases for laptop functionality. Until i do that. i’m gonna stick with my case. Very light and durable. The wire holes are very cool too.
Dj Equipment -Audio Controller-
I sided with inexpensive when it came to picking an audio controller and the mixtrack is a simple unit that is extremely easy to master. It really makes things easy for me. I know i wanted to use Virtual Dj over Serato. I think in time i will grow up to acontroller that gives me more to do. But i’m busy with the mixtrack . i have 32 effects which is an upgrade over the 6 i used to do with my cd player. I love the sampler on Virtual dj. This still allows me to do my radio sweeps.
I could have done a little better in this area for the amount of money i spend but after scanning and cleaning up. This laptop isn’t that bad. It’s slow and it freezes up more than i want it too but on the job it only has to be able to run virtual dj. It’s only froze up on me twice on the job so far. (RIP 2011)
When your a Dj please know that you will go through headphones. I’ve gone through my share and the technology just keeps on improving. These headphones cancel a little bit of outside noise and you hear the bass, treble, and highs like your supposed to. These headphones are one of the best options in the middle range price wise. My ears tend to sweat after long periods of time. As soon as they figure that one out i’ll gladly upgrade (Died in 2012)
Dj Equipment- My bag
If you know me you know that my closet is color coordinated so this bag was right up my alley. I needed a bag that could allow me to carry my mixtrack, laptop, and wires and cables and this was like a bag sent from heaven. This bag is so hot i’m showing two pictures…Amazing
My latest purchase. I thought it would be good to add some flair. Â These headphones were supriseingly inexpensive. Â So far no issues with them, and they sound good
COMPUTER- HP PAVILLON (2015-
I have been on the search for a light for a long time. I wasn’t sure at first but this light kicks ass. If you want color and motion this is the light for you. Â It’s great in backyards and i can’t wait to light this thing up inside and outside and get people excited about dancing
Call me old fashion but i like a good sturdy table. And i thought if i had one with that can adjust i would be in the game. Many dj’s go with stands and sometimes i do but nothing beats a good table. The hole in the table allows me to be neat with my wires. Â I can also thumbtack my dj sign to the outside of the carpeted surface . GENIOUS
So if you have any questions about what to buy you can comment below . I’ve owned alot of dj equipment in my life.
